Overview of post
The Bladder and Bowel Nurse Team (BBNT) is a small nurse led service, comprising of a small team of nurses who have specialised knowledge in the assessment, diagnosis, treatment and management of adult bladder and bowel dysfunction. The team play a vital role in not only assessing patients but providing advice and support to a wide range of health professionals, patients, family members and carers. Education in formal settings is provided by the Nurse Specialist, however you will help provide training to voluntary organisations in the community and other minority groups.
This is an exciting opportunity to work in a specialised team, who are passionate in promoting bladder and bowel health. Our goal is to improve on the symptoms the individual is experiencing, enabling an improvement in health and wellbeing.
Vacancy details
We have various hours and more than one post available.
You will be able to work independently Monday to Friday in clinic settings and home visits in Edinburgh, Midlothian and East Lothian, with your base at Astley Ainslie Hospital.
Criteria
You will be able to travel throughout Lothian and have experience of working in a variety of clinical settings. Experience of working in the community setting is desirable.
You will have knowledge in types of bladder and bowel dysfunctions and assessments, treatment and management options.
