Post 1 – Occupational Therapist, Band 5, 37.5 hpw but negotiable - permanent - Huntlyburn House, Melrose
Our Acute Mental Health Services deliver person-centred, enhanced care within our inpatient setting, Huntlyburn Ward. Huntlyburn is a 19 bedded acute admissions unit within NHS Borders. You will be required to work as part of the multidisciplinary team assessing and treating patients presenting in an acute phase of illness.
We are looking for a motivated and innovative individual who can make a contribution to the care and treatment of patients on the ward. In return we offer a supportive team, with good opportunities for growth and career development.

Post 2 – Occupational Therapist, Band 6, 30hpw - CMHT East - Permanent
Post 3 – Occupational Therapist, Band 6, 30hpw - CMHT South - Fixed Term Contract until 31/01/2023
We are seeking to appoint a Community Mental Health Occupational Therapist with experience of working in mental health, to work as an integral team member within a multidisciplinary environment. You will work with a diverse client group who experience a range of complex mental health difficulties, including eating disorders, neurodiversity, personality disorder as well as more common diagnosis. Managing a defined caseload of complex cases using evidence based, patient centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions in order to encourage recovery, meaningful occupation and social inclusion. You will be familiar with tools such as MOHO and COPM and will provide an Occupational Therapy perspective to the MDT. There is a strong commitment to deliver on Mental Health Strategy and an opportunity to collaborate with other Occupational Therapists working with-in the service. We are committed to supervision, leadership development, CPD and student placements.

Post 5 – Occupational Therapist, Band 6 37.5hpw, Permanent - MHOAS
NHS Borders are delighted to invite applicants to join our Mental Health Older Adults Service (MHOAS) Community Hospital and Care Home Assessment Team (CHAT) as Band 6 Occupational Therapist.
MHOAS- CHAT aim to deliver person centred, goal orientated and strength based care within our Community Hospitals and Care Homes throughout the Scottish Borders. Your role would include supporting the MDT with delivering the Newcastle Model, providing expert advice around person centred meaningful occupation and meaningful environments within a care home setting. Contributing to the MDT discussion, highlighting when a lack of occupation may be contributing to someone’s distress. Collaborating with care home staff to raise awareness and provide advice around the environment or occupations and completing standardised assessments.
We are seeking a highly motivated Occupational Therapist preferably with experience of working with older people living with Dementia or a functional mental health diagnosis, who can demonstrate strong leadership skills and a commitment to multidisciplinary working.
We are a close, supportive and inclusive team with high standards for delivery of clinical services within the Scottish Borders with a committed to supervision, CPD, leadership development and student placements and there is a commitment to deliver on Connecting People Connecting Support and an opportunity to collaborate with other AHPs through the Borders AHP dementia forum.
