The Isle of Arran is the 7th largest island in Scotland and is often described as 'Scotland in Miniature' due to its mountainous north and rolling lowlands to the south of the island. Arran is separated from mainland. Ayrshire by an hour long ferry crossing from Ardrossan to Brodick, and in summer, by a shorter ferry from Kintyre to Lochranza. Although located off the west coast of Scotland you can still travel by public transport to Glasgow in two hours. Arran's stable population is approximately 5000 which increases 4fold during the summer months. As well as having stunning scenery the island offers a wide range of outdoor activities and experiences.
Nursing services on the island within the hospital and community are provided by a single nursing team and this exciting opportunity is for a Phlebotomist who will be working as part of the community nursing team visiting patients within their homes and other clinical areas to obtain blood samples.
Phlebotomy experience is desirable although not essential as training can be provided. The community nursing team will provide you with support and knowledge to carry out the role.
