An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Mental Health Directorate for a motivated, dynamic and experienced healthcare support worker to be considered for the role of Senior Healthcare Support Worker within the Mental Health Crisis Team.
In line with the Crisis team the post holder will be expected to support the direct provision of assessing people in acute mental health crisis in the community as part of an exciting newly developing team. The post holder will work with colleagues in the team and in the wider mental health network to ensure that service users are offered the most appropriate service management and be willing to offer a flexible service operating 24 hours a day.
The post holder will provide support across the A&E department, police and third sector providers however, the post holder will need to be reactive and respond in a timely manner to any concerns that are identified within the locality due to the acuity and risk that the patients present with.
The post holder will support and deliver a range of treatments, interventions, education and support, anticipating health needs, promoting self care and recovery whilst enabling people with mental health problems to be as independent as possible.
The post covers Dumfries and Galloway, therefore the ability to travel independently across the region is essential..
This post will require the successful applicant to have/obtain PVG Clearance.
