An exciting opportunity has arisen within Medicine for the Elderly. We require an experienced HCSW with a genuine interest in caring for the over 65 population.
Previous Band 2 hospital experience is essential.
Ward 41 is an Acute Medicine of the Elderly ward with a commitment to multidisciplinary team working. We specialise in caring for patients predominantly over 65’s with complex conditions including delirium and Dementia.
SVQ level 3 is desirable but if you do not possess this you must be prepared to work towards this.
The extended clinical skills required for this post include; venepuncture, vital signs cannulation, performing ECG’s and catheterisation.
The applicant must be able to work under pressure, co-ordinate discharges, support the registered nurse with a small case load of patients, good time management and organization skills.
The applicant will frequently be required to attend TEAMS meetings in relation to capacity and flow therefore IT skills are essential.
Excellent communication and documentation skills are also required for this role.
Hours will be worked to suit the needs of the 24 hour service. This will include weekends and day/night rotation.
