This is an exciting secondment opportunity to join the Home Enteral Feeding Nursing Team as a Clinical Nurse Specialist delivering an expert service to the six HSCP’s across NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde. The post holder will function as independent, autonomous practitioner and work closely with key partners throughout all clinical services with HSCPs to deliver safe, effective, person-centred care.  The role demands a large clinical component, and for this reason, the post holder will be an expert on all aspects of Enteral Tube management and feeding to support patients, carers’ and members of the multidisciplinary team. The post holder will exercise a significant degree of autonomy and decision making within this role, providing specialist clinical support, advice and direct clinical interventions for patients presenting with complex enteral tube management and feeding care needs and highly specialist enteral feeding tubes including nasogastric and gastronomy tubes. They will contribute to or lead on the development, review and implementation of policies, protocols and guidelines, regarding nutrition and enteral tube feeding, to support clinically effective practice. There will be a significant educational aspect to this post and in line with the Complex Nutritional Care Standards (2015), the post holder will provide education and training on enteral feeding tube management and clinical skills to NHS GG&C HSCPs Staff relevant to their role.  ​​​​​​​
