This is a full-time permanent post offered on a fixed contract for 2 years for a Band 6 Mental Health Practitioner.

Shift pattern: Mon- Fri 9am - 5pm.

An exciting opportunity has arisen in the recently established Martha’s Mammies service, a multi-disciplinary project that aims to offer holistic, person-centered, strengths-based support to engage with birth mothers who have lost care of their children.

The post holder is required to have an appropriate professional background. This could include being an Occupational Therapist with mental health background, a Registered Mental health nurse (RMN), or First Level Registered Nurse with experience in mental health and a commitment to further training.

The post holder will:

  • exercise full clinical responsibility and accountability for the assessment, treatment and discharge of their case load, adhering to their professional guidelines and scope of practice.
  • be expected to work collaboratively with other professionals across HSCP, third sector, and families and communities, and work to a trauma-informed and assertive outreach model.
  • provide a specialist service, through provision of assessment and evidence based psychological interventions. This will typically include individual therapy, group work and facilitating Guided self-help.
  • promote good physical and mental health and wellbeing through health promotion and early intervention.

Experience of working with people in an Alcohol and Drug, Sexual Health or Mental Health service is preferred, and an ability to demonstrate a sound value base, empathy and tenacity is essential.
