The post:
NHS National Services Scotland is seeking a Consultant Clinical Informatician to act as the Nursing Clinical Advisor to the National eRostering Programme. This role will also provide Clinical Informatics support to this and other programmes within the NSS portfolio of work.
The eRostering National Programme (eRNP) works with all NHS Scotland Health Boards to adopt a ‘once for Scotland’ eRostering solution. This solution will provide a single eRostering platform for all staff and enable better workforce planning, national reporting and contribute to the delivery of the Health and Care (Staffing) Act (2019). The programme team are responsible for supporting Health Boards in their local implementations of the system as well as the smooth integration of the system with other supporting business technology. Additionally, the programme team are key collaborators in the production of national eRostering Policy, national reporting KPIs and national eRostering operational guidelines. This role will be the key clinical advisor to the programme to support this aspect of the work and be the lead and liaison on these topics with our wide group of stakeholders. This includes Scottish Government, NHS Scotland Health Boards and the various unions and professional bodies.
Whilst initially embedded within the eRostering programme team this role will sit within the wider National Clinical Informatics Service for Scotland and will have the opportunity to contribute to other work within this area. The National Clinical Informatics Service for Scotland is involved in Clinical Safety Assurance of Health IT; Software as a Medical Device; Health & Care Analytics; Clinical Terminologies; Digital Health & Care Solutions; Clinical Data & Information; Research & Innovation; and Training & Events.
The candidate:
Applications are invited from individuals who have an active nursing registration and knowledge of clinical safety approaches in the context of IT solutions. Applications from individuals with experience of rostering in an acute clinical setting and / or creating and implementing organisation wide policy would be particularly encouraged.
