This opportunity is available in: West Highland, to include Skye & Lochalsh, Lochaber and Wester Ross. PLEASE NOTE: THIS ROLE IS PRIMARILY BASED IN PORTREE URGENT CARE CENTRE, WITH SOME ROTATION INTO BROADFORD HOSPITAL ISLE OF SKYE, AND MAY ALSO INCLUDE COVER IN SOME OF THE MORE REMOTE AREAS OF THE HIGHLANDS.
We are looking for a Qualified or partially qualified Advanced Nurse or Paramedic Practitioner to be part of this prestigious team which offers you the exciting opportunity to work in a variety of stunning locations and embrace the unique challenges and opportunities presented by rural practice.
As an Advanced Practitioner (Rural Support Team) you will work autonomously as the first contact clinician to both patients requiring home visits and also attendees to the Urgent Care Centre in Portree. The Advanced Practitioner will have the flexibility to work autonomously within an Urgent Care/pre hospital setting, within their scope of competency. In remote and rural locations, the healthcare professional is a key part of the community, which brings specific challenges but can also offer fantastic levels of personal and professional satisfaction.
You will ideally be experienced in pre hospital care, community hospital and transfer environments, which require extended skills such as Non Medical Prescribing, BASICs, ALS, PLS, intermediate and palliative care. Opportunities to acquire additional skills would be made available to the right candidates who are as excited about this as we are.
We would be pleased to review applications from candidates who have already completed some of the advanced modules, all trainee posts come under Annex 21 for salary purposes.
This post covers both the in and out of hours periods, there may be an on call expectation depending on location that is integral to ensuring that safe, effective, high quality care is delivered as close to home as possible, by a sustainable and appropriately skilled workforce with a reduction in dependency on medical models of care provision. The role of the Advanced Practitioner is dynamic and it is essential that skills are maintained in order to offer a safe and sustainable service to the community, as a consequence there will be opportunities to work in other locations and learn new skills.
ALL CANDIDATES MUST BE REGISTERED WITH EITHER THE NMC OR HCPC, MUST BE EDUCATED TO Msc LEVEL AND HOLD A CURRENT DRIVING LICENCE.
