Health and Safety Service / Health and Safety Practitioner 

Band 6

37.5 Hours

An exciting opportunity has arisen within NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde for a Health and Safety Practitioner to join our dedicated Health and Safety Service. The post will provide competent advice and guidance to staff and managers regarding Health and Safety and support a strong culture of safety compliance to ensure the best possible safe working environment for staff and the right care for patients.    The successful candidate will provide specialist Health and Safety advice ensuring that the highest standards of health, safety and welfare are maintained for both staff and patients. In addition, you will ensure that all statutory requirements are complied with in line with policies and guidance. Applicants should have in-depth knowledge and understanding of health and safety legislation and its practical application enabling them to provide expert health and safety advice, training and guidance to all staff within NHS GGC. As training and communication will form a large proportion of the posts activities, excellent presentation and communication skills are necessary.  Candidates should be educated to National Examination Board of Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH) diploma or equivalent and hold a Chartered Membership of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH). Experience of implementing and auditing Health and Safety Management Systems and relevant training is desirable. Experience of working in highly regulated sectors such as healthcare is desirable.       
The shift pattern is dayshift Mon – Fri with a flexible blended approach between home and site depending on activity. Driving License desirable
