Following the establishment of the new service Events Team, an exciting opportunity has now arisen for a forward thinking, dynamic and commercially focused leader to join the team as Head of Events.
As Head of Department the successful candidate will ensure that their function provides a national, comprehensive, event medical planning and delivery service for event providers and other business’ that is reflective of the professional principles, clinical standards, and values of NHS Scotland.
We are seeking to recruit an exceptional leader who will recruit and lead a team of operational and administrative staff to plan for the oversight, management, and delivery of all events. This will include the development of events specific training courses. They will liaise closely with regional and national operational departments, the finance team and with external partners including local authorities.
The successful candidate will require significant operational management experience and recent project management experience is desirable, as they will be required to develop the departmental implementation plan in addition to the operational delivery of events.
They must have relevant, recent experience of management of events and have sound knowledge of events legislation. They will possess excellent communication, leadership and influencing skills with the ability to analyse complex information; they should be outcome driven, forward thinking and able to demonstrate how they will place patient safety and staff welfare at the forefront of planning. They must be able to demonstrate sound financial management including marketing and attracting income.
Reporting to the Deputy Director National Operations the based in Motherwell, with travel across Scotland as required. Applicants should note that security clearance will be required for this post.
