Please note this is a fixed term post for 18 Months Where a post only has temporary funding and an existing member of NHS Lanarkshire staff wishes to apply, this will be treated as a secondment. The employee MUST already have a written agreement from their line manager to be released on a secondment before applying for the post.
The post holder will contribute to the work of the Health Visiting team, you will be part of the Nursery Nurse - Early years worker will be supported by the Health Visitor in the implementation of delivery and health promotion and support programmes (e.g. breastfeeding support, Solihull, child healthy weight) You will contribute to the Health Visiting assessment process to identify need for individuals/families and communities through awareness of local services for children and families. Through a sound knowledge of child development, be responsive to differing individual/family needs thus enabling parents to develop/improve parenting skills and to plan appropriate play/learning experiences with families in conjunction with the Health Visiting care planning process.
Some duties and responsibilities are intended to represent current priorities and are not meant to be a conclusive list. The postholder may from time to time be asked to undertake other reasonable duties. Any changes will be made in discussion with the postholder in the light of service needs.
KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED TO DO THE JOB
- Professional child care knowledge acquired through NNEB, SVQ/HNC in Child Care education.
- Minimum of 2 years experience working in a hospital or education environment with pre-5 children/families.
- Be able to work independently or within a team liaising with colleagues as required.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills are essential.
- IT skills.
- Knowledge of relevant national/local policies and processes.
- Commitment to ongoing personal development.
