The Chief Medical Officer for Scotland’s Annual Report in 2016: ‘Realistic Medicine’, has challenged Scotland’s Healthcare professionals to change to an approach based on shared decision making, a more personalised approach to care, a reduction in harm, waste and unnecessary variation in practice and outcomes, better management of risk and increased innovation.
Realistic ‘medicine’ includes all professionals who use their skills and knowledge to help people maintain health and to prevent and treat illness. This includes professions such as nursing, pharmacy, counsellors, physiotherapists and social work. Realistic medicine recognises that a one size fits all approach to health and social care is not the most effective path for the patient or the NHS.
We are now looking to recruit a competent Project Manager to support the work of the Realistic Medicine Team and to manage and oversee RM implementation within NHSGG&C. This will also include support for implementation of RM principles that relate to Boards recovery and remobilisation plans.
