We are seeking to appoint an Arthroplasty Specialist Nurse, full time (37.5hrs) for Glasgow South Sector, based in the outpatient department at the West Glasgow Ambulatory Care Hospital. The Arthroplasty NS team provide post-operative advice, monitoring and review for orthopaedic arthroplasty patients including requesting and reviewing x-rays, monitoring blood results, administering a patient telephone helpline. The role of the service includes the collation and submission of patient outcome data for local and national databases. The role requires the specialist nurse to work as part of the orthopaedic team providing Clinical support, advice and education to patients but also other healthcare professionals. The successful candidate will be expected to work autonomously in an established department and integrate with the orthopaedic team. Therefore, good communication and networking skills are essential. The successful candidate must be willing to learn the role of the specialist nurse within all aspects of the arthroplasty service. It is essential that you are a Registered Adult Nurse with substantial post registration experience, current NMC registration, experience of orthopaedic nursing is essential . Hours are 37.5 hours per week full time, working Monday to Friday.
