NHS Borders are continuously delivering a portfolio of IT projects. These primarily involve the implementation of upgrades/ change of current systems
As a Test Analyst you will be required to take a flexible and innovative approach combined with excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills to ensure that the application performs to the requirements of its users and clinicians. The Test Analyst will take a lead role in testing assigned projects and the associated sub-programmes as required. You will be expected to:
• Analyse and resolve complex IT and testing issues
• Analyse complex business and clinical processes in line with the NHSB Test Framework and Patient Safety Strategy to produce the Test Strategy, Test Plan and Test Scripts for the required project test phases
• Acquire and maintain a detailed knowledge of the systems to be tested and the business and clinical processes the system is intended to support.
• Communicate with staff (e.g. developers and infrastructure specialists) on complex technical, business and clinical matters relating to testing.
• Undertake technical system testing
• Represent NHSB at relevant meetings when required
Experience in the following areas would be advantageous:
• A background in software testing with knowledge and expertise of test methodologies and relevant industry standards
• ISTQB Software Testing Foundation certification
• A sound knowledge of relevant NHS clinical and business processes.
We are looking for highly motivated individuals who can quickly learn our systems and respond to a variety of software testing requirements.
This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a testing capability to supporting testing on a number of varied projects at a National level.
The post is highly collaborative in nature and involves communication and negotiation with technical and non-technical experts and managers internally and externally. As such the post-holder must have specialised knowledge in either IT or business related areas with knowledge that will have been accumulated over several years and supported by formal qualifications, training and experience. Experience of the NHS would be advantageous.
