NHS Lanarkshire have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic individual to join our team as the Trauma and Orthopaedic Service Manager.
The Trauma & Orthopaedics service is a pan Lanarkshire service that is one of the busiest trauma services in Scotland. Trauma treatment is via University Hospital Wishaw, in a Unit with 72 Orthopaedic specialty beds delivering safe, high quality, efficient and financially sustainable care for the population of NHS Lanarkshire.
The elective inpatient service at University Hospital Hairmyres values the contribution of this post holder in leading the 27 Consultants, and working collaboratively with the wider Orthopaedic specialist team, to support in treating and delivering the scheduled care delivery to our patient population. In doing so the post holder will deliver high quality clinical services and non-clinical support functions that meet the immediate and future needs of the patient population in Lanarkshire in line with NHS Lanarkshire’s healthcare strategy “Achieving Excellence”
The post holder is accountable to the University Hospital Wishaw Director of Hospital Services for the entire operational and strategic management of the Trauma & Orthopaedic service, including responsibility for its performance, resources and activity.
The post holder is responsible for providing managerial input to the Division’s strategic structure and for developing future clinical strategy via the Division’s Clinical Groupings. The post holder will have a key role in developing the “Centre of Excellence” for the Orthopaedic elective care within the Monklands Replacement Project (MRP) and the opening of the new state of the art Monklands Hospital in 2028

Furthermore, directed by the Director of Hospital Services, post holder is expected to work on a range of Service specific and NHSL wide issues.
