An opportunity has arisen to apply for a permanent Advanced Practitioner Physiotherapy (Band 7) post in the Cumbernauld Integrated Rehabilitation Team. The post holder will provide expert clinical leadership to Physiotherapists in an integrated team which comprises of Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Assistant Practitioners, Senior Healthcare Support Workers and Occupational Therapy Assistants. While this post is advertised on a full-time basis, applications from those looking for part-time hours are welcomed. A full valid UK driving license holder would be essential for this position to meet the needs of the service.
The post holder will be an autonomous expert clinician working as a clinical specialist, whilst managing a clinical caseload of highly complex patients through expert physiotherapy assessment, treatment planning, and discharge. The post holder will be responsible for introducing new approaches to physiotherapy access and process increasing the focus on health promotion and self-management. The post holder will provide expert support and education for physiotherapists, health professionals, relatives, and carers within and out of the service.
The post holder will liaise with and refer to other social and health services to provide comprehensive patient management and optimise outcomes.
The post holder will be responsible for maintaining and improving all aspects of clinical governance, evidence-based practice, and quality assurance in the service area in conjunction with the care group lead. The post holder will implement research, audit and to develop a service that responds to national initiatives policies and clinical governance.
The successful candidate will have achieved the following skills & attributes :
- Registered Physiotherapist with valid UK HCPC Registration
- Educated to/working towards/operating at Masters Level
- Postgraduate expertise within a speciality/area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge required to lead safely, effectively and efficiently.
- Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the speciality.
- Advanced Specialist knowledge and experience of relevant conditions, pathology, policies and procedures associated with the speciality/area of practice ensuring that the level of expertise can be utilised to deliver leadership within the speciality.
- Evidence of application of advanced practice skills in speciality and applying clinical judgement.
- Evidence of further developed knowledge and experience in management and/or leadership.
- Further education/evidence of Continuous Professional Development in area of speciality including study days/courses/postgraduate qualification
- The post holder will possess excellent team-working/leadership skills and have the ability to motivate and influence others and work using their own initiative
- Excellent listening, communication, and interpersonal skills and effective time management skills
- Working knowledge of basic information technology.
