NHS Dumfries & Galloway have two vacancies for Band 6 Specialist Speech and Language Therapists based in modern Dumfries & Galloway Royal Infirmary or a flexible location within Dumfries and Galloway.
We are seeking 2 Specialist Speech & Language Therapist with interests in acute work or community in the provision of assessment and therapy for patients presenting with acquired conditions including dysphagia. Depending on experience opportunities may be provided for further training in dysphonia, trauma and instrumental assessment of dysphagia. You will have ample opportunities to work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary stroke, rehabilitation and ENT teams.
You will be experienced in managing your own clinical caseload and working autonomously, as well as part of a team. We are strongly committed to ongoing training and support for CPD and quality improvement. There is regular time to connect with others professionally and within the multi disciplinary forum. You will be required to provide support to Band 5 SALTs, SALT Support Workers and students, and actively contribute to service development and quality improvement projects.
A development opportunity consideration will be given to Band 5 candidates. If successful, you will be required to complete a defined period of training to move onto Band 6.
