NHS Fife’s Bowel Screening Service aims to promote faster diagnosis by assessing patient’s symptoms holistically and providing a tailored pathway of clinically relevant tests as quickly as possible. Due to service development, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 4 Patient Navigator to join our team in order to support the high level of service we offer.
The Patient Pathway Navigator will play an integral role within the Bowel Screening Service. This role offers the opportunity to help shape the service at a formative stage as well as providing direct patient engagement and support. Your ability to think beyond the norm, embrace change and be open to new ways of working are essential for the forward focused service. You will be confident, enthusiastic, dynamic and self- motivated with the ability to display advanced IT, administrative and organisational skills.  

This post will be busy and varied and you will be expected to offer the following:


• Coordination of care by providing a single point of access
• Providing advice and refer on or sign-post to other sources of support
• Coordination of monitoring and diagnostics through appointments and investigations
• Coordination of face to face appointments for those with complex results
• Discussion of patients issues relevant to their health and social care and providing support where possible or escalating to the relevant clinical teams if necessary
• Stock rotation and ordering for the clinics via the PECOS system
• Escalating any issues within the service to the Senior/Charge nurses

As well as excellent communication skills, you will be confident, enthusiastic and self-motivated.
You will have complete support from the team in order to meet your need to excel in this role.
