An exciting secondment opportunity has arisen within the Maternity & Neonatal Psychological Interventions (MNPI) team for a band 6 midwife for

a fixed term period of one year. 
The newly enhanced Maternity and Neonatal Psychological Interventions (MNPI) team is multi-professional service based in the PRMH, QEUH &
RAH maternity units, comprising clinical psychologists, with other staff from midwifery or mental health worker backgrounds. Their role is to provide
psychological interventions, where indicated, for parents with (i) pregnancy and birth complications or loss, (ii) previous pregnancy complications, loss or birth trauma affecting mental health in the current pregnancy, (iii) infants whose health is significantly compromised and who require NICU or SCBU care, and (iv) mental disorders amenable to psychological therapies which directly affect maternity care e.g., needle phobia, tokophobia. They also provide support for maternity and neonatal staff who care for parents with difficulties in adjustment to pregnancy and infant care. The successful applicant will support the general activity of the team as well as having key responsibilities in relation to increasing maternity and neonatal staff knowledge and skills in relation to perinatal and infant mental health and increasing staff confidence is supporting families in the perinatal period. · Improving quality of referrals to the MNPI Team by ensuring improved staff knowledge of the perinatal and infant mental health service and referral pathways to ensure families receive the right care by the right service at the right time.
Building upon the treatment options available to women presenting with antenatal anxiety and low mood by developing group interventions across the 3 maternity hospitals following the success of the pilot at the PRMH.

Hours of work: Monday to Friday 0.8 wte.
