Medical Secretary

Band 4 Salary £23,709 - £25,982 per annum

Plus Distant Islands Allowance of £1,117 per annum

37.5 hours per week

Maternity Cover – 1 year


We are seeking an experienced Medical Secretary/Administrator to provide an effective and efficient high quality medical secretarial and administrative service to the surgical consultants at NHS Western Isles in the Western Isles Hospital.

Applicants must have previous Medical Secretary experience in a similar post within a busy office environment.  You must be self-motivated with a good standard of education together with excellent interpersonal, communication, organisational and keyboard/IT skills together with knowledge of medical terminology.

​​​​​​​We are seeking an individual who is enthusiastic with the ability to work well under pressure and to tight deadlines.

Relevant secretarial or administrative experience in an NHS setting would be an advantage.
