The aim is for our workforce to be truly representative and for each employee to feel respected and able to give their best. To this end, NHS Scotland welcomes applications from all sections of society.

Applications are for Occupational Therapists who wish to join our multidisciplinary Community Mental Health Teams.

We work flexibly to provide an equitable community occupational therapy service covering all localities within the Perth and Kinross HSCP.

The post holders will provide occupational therapy interventions to enable and support people to achieve their best possible personal outcomes within their homes and communities.

We are looking for people with a genuine interest in mental health and wellbeing and a commitment to promoting the value of occupational therapy. We use occupation as the foundation of our work in collaboration with people as a basis for bringing value and purpose to their lives. This may involve the use of specialist assessment, current evidence based treatments, or techniques to support decision making, goal achievement, empowerment through independence, supported self-management and recovery where possible.

Our Service provides formal and informal supervision, actively supports individual development through performance development review and learning plans, provides a framework for encouraging CPD and promotes innovative practice.

Please apply if you -

  • have a knowledge of occupational therapy models and policy relevant to mental health and community settings
  • have a desire to continue to learn and build your own knowledge base and experience
  • are a team player with resourcefulness and flexibility
  • have excellent communication skills
  • can demonstrate the values of NHS Tayside through your work and attitude
  • have innovative ideas for service development
