The NHS Fife Pharmacy & Medicines Service serves a population of approximately 380,000 people and is provided by an integrated team of around 200 Pharmacy staff, including Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians, Support Workers, Nurses, and Administrators. The team works across Acute and Community hospital sites, General Practices, Mental Health services, and a range of specialist teams. Partnership working is at the core of our values, and we work closely with other members of the multi-disciplinary team, including our Community Pharmacy colleagues, to deliver the highest quality care for everyone in Fife.
We are looking for a pharmacy technician to join our hospital pharmacy team. Applications are welcome from newly qualified pharmacy technicians or those expecting to register with the GPhC within the next 3 months. Hospital experience is not essential as full training will be provided.
As a rotational pharmacy technician, you will work within the dispensary, aseptic unit, stores including vaccines and clinical areas. You will be required to undertake accuracy checking as part of this role and candidates without the necessary qualification will be supported to achieve this.
You will be based at the Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy but will be required to work at both Queen Margaret and Victoria Hospital Pharmacy Departments. To meet the needs of the service, you will work variable shifts between 08:00-18:00 Monday to Friday and participate in a weekend and public holiday rota.
