We are a large Practice in the historic university town of St Andrews, serving over 16,000 patients, of which approximately 6,000 are students of the University of St Andrews.
We work from a modern community hospital, where we have responsibility for inpatients including a small number of specialised palliative care beds, as well as providing medical cover for the Minor Injuries Unit. We also work closely with the wider community hospital services and our local Nursing and Care Homes, as well as the Student Support Team at St Andrews University.
We are an innovative, friendly and progressive training Practice comprising a team of eight GP Partners working alongside an excellent team of well qualified and autonomous nurses, including Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Practice Nurses and Health Care Assistants. We also have a large, experienced administration team to support our clinical activities. We believe our Practice to be an excellent place to work and our low staff turnover is testament to this.
Due to the retirement of the Business Partner, we are looking for an experienced leader to join our Senior Management Team, to help us shape the future of Primary Care within St Andrews and deliver improved outcomes for our patients, whilst ensuring a sustainable business model is embedded and developed.
About the Role
The purpose of the role is to provide leadership, management and motivation to the Practice team to enable the Practice to meet its agreed aims and objectives within a safe, efficient, profitable and positive working environment. The successful candidate must have good project and time management skills, be self-motivated and confident, hard working, reliable, resourceful, adaptable and innovative, be able to turn ideas into services and to gain respect by example and leadership as well as being resilient and personable.
Our Location
St Andrews as a town offers excellent opportunities to individuals and families with high quality schooling, cultural and leisure activities available on our doorstep. Despite being a semi rural location, excellent transport links mean Glasgow, Edinburgh and beyond are easily accessible.
