Job Advert

NHS Scotland is committed to encouraging equality and diversity among our workforce and eliminating unlawful discrimination. The aim is for our workforce to be truly representative and for each employee to feel respected and able to give their best. To this end, NHS Scotland welcomes applications from all sections of society.

Applications are invited for 3 substantive Consultant Anaesthetist posts in Aberdeen, two with a general interest and one with an interest in Vascular Anaesthesia. The Anaesthetic Department in Aberdeen is large and therefore can accommodate development of sub-specialty interest as well as many opportunities to develop research and teaching interests in collaboration with the local universities, some on campus.

Located in the North East of Scotland, Aberdeen is an affluent, friendly and vibrant city, combining all the amenities of a large city with quick, easy access to its beautiful surrounding countryside and coastline offering exceptional access to the outdoor lifestyle.

These posts are being advertised at an exciting time for NHS Grampian with so many recent and planned developments on the Foresterhill site including the Baird Family Hospital and the new National treatment Centre. Moreover, with Aberdeen becoming the first Major Trauma Centre in Scotland and the establishment of a new hub for Emergency Medical Retrieval Services, there are excellent opportunities for an enthusiastic appointee to develop interests in a wide choice of areas.

The 10 programmed activities job descriptions all comprise 8 Direct Clinical Care and 2 Supporting Programmed Activities including oncall.

Full registration with a licence to practise with the GMC is required. (licence to practise must be in place prior to starting in post).  For more information visit www.gmc-uk.org
