  • The post holder’s main duties will be collecting blood samples by venepuncture for adults and paediatric referrals.
  • The post holder will work within community bases and complete domiciliary visits within Glasgow City HSCP.
  • The post holder will be expected to work without direct supervision and exercise initiative when providing patient care, however a trained nurse will be available for advice and guidance.
  • The post holder must hold and SVQ Level 3 in Healthcare  or equivalent experience (Phlebotomy module)
  • The post holder must have phlebotomy experience and the ability to work with people and as part of team and demonstrate good communication skills both written and verbal, ensuring compliance with the Data Protection Act, Freedom of Information Act and Patient Confidentiality. The post holder must participate in systems of practice support and personal development planning.
  • The post holder will be required to participate with other multidisciplinary / multi agency staff who may require to gain an overview of the phlebotomy role and assist with the induction of new staff into the team. The post holder will work within organisational and local policies, procedures and guidelines to ensure maintenance of safe working practices for patients and colleagues.
