This is an exciting opportunity to join our team of Pharmacy Support Workers within NHS Ayrshire & Arran providing a wide range of pharmacy services to patients across the area.

This is a rotational post offering training and experience in all aspects of hospital pharmacy including:  Dispensary, Distribution, Ward top-up, Near Patient Dispensing, the Combined Assessment Unit, Pharmacy Stores and Aseptic services (at Crosshouse Pharmacy)

Essential qualifications are an A or B pass at National 5 or equivalent (SCQF Level 5) in English, Maths, Chemistry and Biology. Previous Pharmacy experience and a driving license is an advantage but full hospital pharmacy training will be provided, along with the opportunity to attain the SVQ in Pharmacy Services at SCQF level 6 qualification.

This post carries a contractual commitment to work on a shift system (which includes a commitment to cover 7 days including weekend and evening). Post-holder will also be required to participate in our Public holiday rotas.

Applicants should possess the following:
•    A or B pass at National 5 or equivalent in English, Maths, Chemistry and Biology
•    SVQ in Pharmacy Services at SCQF level 6 or equivalent or transferrable (or achieve this qualification within two years from commencement)
•    Good communication skills (oral and written)
•    Good customer care skills
•    Moderate arithmetic skill
