This is a 15 hour permanent post worked 5 hours a day over 3 days Monday to Sunday.

The phlebotomy department provides a venepuncture service on behalf of all services within the Acute Division of NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde.  The post holder is responsible for the delivery of the Phlebotomy Service to wards in hospitals within the Acute Division, ensuring target times are met and adhered to for the delivery of blood specimens to the laboratories.  Collect blood samples from appropriate patients by venepuncture on request from medical staff   You will ensure accuracy  in  cross-matching of  blood transfusion samples and protocols are adhered in the authorisation process after taking blood sample from patient and ensure correct identification and labelling of these samples and accompanying documentation.  You should be educated to standard grade level or have equivalent level of experience and possess excellent communication, team-working and time management skills.
