Senior Charge Nurse – Cancer & Palliative Care Services

(Oncology Day Treatment)

37.5 hours per week

Edinburgh Cancer Centre at St Johns Hospital


Based in Livingston, West Lothian, this satellite unit of the Edinburgh Cancer Centre (ECC) has a reputation for the provision of high-quality evidence-based cancer care and research for both Oncology and Haematology patients from the local area.

We are currently in the process of submitting plans for a new state of the art centre to replace the existing one on the Western General site.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and innovative nurse to join our team.  They should have relevant oncology and/or haematology experience, familiarity with people and resource management and the ability to work at a senior level in a complex setting.  Knowledge and experience of delivering Systemic Anticancer Therapies (SACT) will be expected.  They will lead a large team to deliver an extensive portfolio of treatments safely and effectively to cancer patients and will be able to demonstrate advanced management and leadership skills.

The successful applicant will mainly be based at St Johns Hospital, Livingston but may be asked to travel to any clinical area within NHS Lothian to support or provide appropriate senior cover.  They may also have to attend local and regional meetings.

This post requires the post holder to have a PVG Scheme membership/ record. If the post holder is not a current PVG member for the required regulatory group (i.e. child and/or adult) then an application will need to be made to Disclosure Scotland and deemed satisfactory before they can begin in post.
