The standard hours of work will be between the hours of 08300 and 1700 hours Monday to Friday however there will be an expectation and requirement for the post holder to have a presence on all shifts (day, back, night Monday to Sunday) as business activity requires.

Site Facilities Manager

Band 7 (£40,872 -£47,846) – 37.5 Hour Post

Gartnavel Campus, Glasgow Dental Hospital & School, associated Health Centres & Resources Centres.

An exciting opportunity exists for experienced Facilities (soft services) professionals to apply for this high profile challenging role within the Facilities Team; based at Gartnavel Campus.

The role also includes responsibility for Glasgow Dental Hospital & School, associated Health Centres and Resource Centres. The successful candidate will drive improvement within all aspects of Facilities Management and maintain high standards, ensuring continuous Improvement.

As a senior Facilities Manager the post holder will provide professional management and leadership of Facilities services and effective hospital site management on a day-to-day operational basis.

Within Gartnavel Campus the main healthcare services include Care of the Elderly, Cancer Care and Mental Health. Off campus Glasgow Dental Hospital and School is the pre-eminent centre for specialist oral health care, education and research in West and Central Scotland.

The role will involve responsibility for the delivery a range of soft Facilities services, an ability to deliver high quality, whilst effectively managing significant budgets, ensuring these are maintained at all times within agreed financial boundaries.

The post requires a dynamic, forward thinking individual who possesses excellent business management and communication skills, is highly conversant with all IT applications and standard software, has an ability to interpret a range of IT related systems (such as FM First, Portertrak, FMT etc.). In addition the post holder must demonstrate an ability to lead teams of staff effectively and to consistently produce high quality standards of work, be highly adaptable and have an ability to prioritise work loads within a pressurised environment.

Applicants should have a minimum of 5 years management experience within an NHS/ soft FM related role and be able to demonstrate their ability to undertake this challenging role through successful previous performance.
