East Dunbartonshire HSCP is looking to appoint a Clinical Director to their Senior Management Team.
Salary - £151K pro-rata to 40hrs

The Clinical Director is a critical member of the team with a number of key roles including – Advisor to our Integrated Board, link between GPs and the HSCP providing an overview of the Primary Care improvement Plan. If you are an experienced General Practitioner, looking to influence local and national policy direction, with an interest in Clinical Governance and Clinical Improvement then this could be an ideal opportunity.
The post-holder will be a member of the ED HSCP senior management team and will report directly to the ED HSCP Chief Officer. The ED HSCP Senior Management Team is charged with delivering the ED HSCP Strategic Plan through the effective and efficient use of resources; and by ensuring that the range and standards of service are of the highest quality possible.
The Clinical Director will be expected to provide clinical leadership, advice and support to their colleagues within ED HSCP Senior Management Team; multi-disciplinary health staff working within HSCP services, and particularly medical practitioners working within those services; and GPs and other NHS external contractors working within East Dunbartonshire. The Clinical Director will be a strong advocate of multi-disciplinary team working; the integration of health and social care; and an effective primary care and acute care interface. The Clinical Director will have an important role in contributing to strategic planning for ED HSCP, most notably in relation to the on- going development of locality planning; and in taking forward Health Board clinical strategies. With regards clinical and care governance, the Clinical Director will have a key role in terms of the on- going development of clinical and care quality across ED HSCP services, working closely with the Chief Nurse, Lead AHP and Chief Social Work Officer; and in facilitating clinical quality initiatives within NHS external contractors locally. The post-holder will advise the Chief Officer and Senior Management Team on contractual matters in relation to the General Medical Services contract and will be the ED HSCP’s main contact with the General Medical Council.
Subject to approval by the ED Health and Social Care Partnership Board (the Integration Joint Board for East Dunbartonshire), the Clinical Director will be a non-voting member of and professional advisor to that Partnership Board in their capacity as a registered medical practitioner whose name is included in the list of primary medical services performers prepared by the Health Board in accordance with Regulations made under section 17P of the National Health Service (Scotland) Act 1978(2).
