The shift pattern for this post is Monday –Sunday, 07.30 – 17.00 shift work.

The Facilities Directorate deliver a variety of services (e.g. patient and retail catering, domestic cleaning, Portering), which support and contribute to
​​​​​​​the provision of quality patient care. 

Porter / Messenger Services

  • Collect and distribute on site mail
  • Operation of mail equipment (see attached equipment list)
  • Collection and onward transmission of specimens and sharps boxes
  • Patient transport on site and off site
  • Patient escort duties
  • The movement of furniture and office equipment
  • Meal distribution, collection and delivery
  • Laundry collection and distribution
  • Site security checks
  • Waste collection
  • Staff escort duties
  • Deliver of Medical gasses
  • Vehicle cleaning
  • Follow work schedules as instructed
  • Report any faults to supervisor
  • Use equipment only as instructed
  • Record vehicle information
  • Work in a safe manner and give consideration to others around you
  • Ensure all statutory and Divisional procedures are followed

DRIVING LICENCE ESSENTIAL

No qualifications or experience are required for this post as all training will be given on the job but you should be able to work under pressure and
have good communication skills
