This is an exciting opportunity to work in community dietetics in a beautiful area of Scotland, with good facilities and support. You'll join an experienced and friendly team of community and specialist dietitians who are developing inequalities sensitive and trauma informed services. This post will deliver and develop the Nutrition and Dietetic Service in:
a rural area - Badenoch and Strathspey working from the new community hospital in Aviemore, at the heart of the Cairngorm mountains.
urban inverness - the capital of the Highlands with good cultural and transport facilities.
As an autonomous practitioner you will deliver general adult dietetic services across the area - within Community Hospitals, Nursing Homes/Care facilities, GP surgeries and patient’s homes - and support people with a wide range of clinical and social conditions . A typical caseload would include: nutriton support, enteral feeding, IBS, weight management and diabetes. There are great opportunities to work with local public and third sector organisation to lead and support the delivery of local community food and health improvement/community development initiatives.
You will manage a 0.5 wte dietetic support worker and contribute to the efficient functioning of the wider community dietetic team . We support student dietetic practice placements. The team consists of 2.6 wte community dietitians, and 2.8 wte specialist dietitians (mental health and eating disorders/learning disabilities/specialist weight management), support workers and administration.

A BSc in Human Nutrition & Dietetics, HCPC registration and a full driving licence are essential for this role.
