Part-Time– Permanent - 0.6wte - 22.5hrs

An exciting opportunity has arisen within NHS Highland for an enthusiastic and motivated pharmacist to join our friendly pharmacy team at Raigmore. This post is a static post working within Women and Child services only,  to provide high quality pharmaceutical care for patients.

Women and child services includes providing a clinical service to the Children’s Unit, neonatal unit, maternity and gynaecology and paediatric oncology clinic. You will work closely with the Lead Pharmacist to provide support and specialist advice to patients and clinical teams.

You be involved in developing and providing education and training to the pharmacy team and other healthcare professionals.

Previous experience in paediatrics would be beneficial but is not an essential requirement . Training and education is a priority of the pharmacy department and we will support you to develop as a specialist pharmacist through experiential learning, mentorship and participation in national groups e.g. NPPG (Neonatal Paediatric Pharmacists Group). We support post graduate study e.g. clinical diploma, MSc or independent prescribing qualifications.

It is essential that you are a registered pharmacist with a Masters Degree in Pharmacy and at least 2 years post-registration experience.  An independent prescribing qualification is desirable but you could work towards this qualification whilst working in this role. Flexible or part time working will be considered.

You should have excellent communication and inter-personal skills and be able to work as part of a team.  You will be required to participate in an emergency on-call rota and occasional weekend working and public holidays.

For an informal discussion please contact  Mairi Dunbar, Lead Pharmacist, Women and Child Services, on 01463 706135.
