Edinburgh City Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP) is undergoing a period of transformative change to improve access to mental health and wellbeing support for people. Mental Health Nursing staff, Allied Health and Social Work professionals contribute to these improvements in their roles within the Thrive Welcome Teams.
We are looking to welcome enthusiastic candidates who have a recognised registered professional qualification with a keen interest in working within an adult community mental health setting in Edinburgh.
There is a multi-disciplinary and interagency approach. Our senior support workers and peer recovery practitioners are employed by third sector organisations whilst our mental health nurses, social workers, and occupational therapists come from statutory services.
The teams have been co-designed to deliver accessible, short-term, mental health interventions, working with adults aged 18-64 in Edinburgh. People engage with the Thrive teams for a variety of reasons, for example, distress and anxiety, depression and social isolation.
People are assisted to build their own self-agency and are linked, where suitable, to services in the wider community. The team utilise approaches that are asset based; solution focused and use motivational interviewing delivered in a trauma aware and trauma skilled way.
There is a focus on utilising professional skills to support risk assessment /management and responses as well as liaising with wider mental health service colleagues where appropriate.
