The Human Resources Workforce Planning and Information team are responsible for delivering strategic workforce planning and information to all services and staff groups and works in partnership with strategic service planning in the pursuit of robust workforce plans that will act as catalyst for service re-design and the development of new roles which will support workforce planning across services and staff groups in a patient focused, flexible and responsible way. The team also leads the ongoing development and implementation of the NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde Workforce Plan.

We are now looking to appoint an exceptional individual who will lead and manage NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde Human Resources Workforce Planning and Information Team and have responsibility for the provision of a strategic, customer focused workforce planning and information service to Service Directors and Managers across Acute and Partnership Services enabling them to make informed decisions on the deployment and management of their people.

You will be expected to share your specialist knowledge to develop best practice systems, processes and capabilities to provide focused workforce information which supports service redesign, scenario and workforce planning.

As an influential player you will apply strong leadership credentials to the development of workforce plans ensuring that there is alignment between workforce, service strategies and finance within the Board. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with workforce planning teams and other stakeholders to identify current workforce pressures and support transformational change programmes.  

The successful candidate will come with the leadership experience to interface on key regional, national and board level workforce planning groups.

This unique role requires resilience, political acumen, and strategic vision along with proven experience of working at a senior level in a discipline appropriate to workforce planning, business/service planning or information production within the NHS or an equivalent large and complex organisation.

You will be educated to or studying towards a masters level qualification in a relevant subject (or have equivalent experience) with evidence of continuous CPD. As a credible and confident practitioner you will demonstrate strong analytical and project management skills along with a successful track record working with complex planning and workforce information.
