An exciting Consultant Sonographer opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and highly motivated individual to lead and manage Ultrasound services across NHS GG&C.

The successful candidate will have responsibility for staff leadership and management, recruitment, appraisal, CPD, performance management, service development and policy, service delivery including liaison with external agencies, complaint handling, delivering the ultrasound service within budget and physical resources for the GG&C Ultrasound Service.

The post holder will have responsibility for alignment of national and local strategy, clinical leadership in the management of Ultrasound, with responsibility for policy and service development and to lead the team within GG&C with responsibility for all elements of governance.

The post holder will provide an expert level of ultrasound clinical service to patients with a wide range of pathology, comprising specialist assessment, diagnosis and treatment.  

In addition to the successful candidate having a degree in Radiography they will be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), educated to MSC level in postgraduate ultrasound qualification, have the relevant clinical and leadership experience and experience in a broad range of ultrasonography competencies.  Your ability to work autonomously and experience of independent reporting is essential in this role. You will also need to be able to manage in a fast paced environment while maintaining the ability to produce high quality images along with succinct and accurate reporting.
