Consultant in Public Health / Consultant in Public Health Medicine –
8 hours/2PAs (Programmed Activities) per week for Locum Consultants & 7.5 hours per week for Band 8d AfC.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Consultant in Public Health / Consultant in Public Health Medicine for National Cervical Screening Audit.
The purpose of this post is to be accountable for the successful completion of a time limited audit on the historical application of no cervix exclusions within the Scottish Cervical Screening Programme. The post holder will provide public health oversight and leadership to the team auditing the records of women affected by the no cervix exclusion incident in Lanarkshire. The post holder will require the skills to oversee service delivery through a number of stages to a timely outcome and will be accountable for the management and public health leadership of the audit. This will include quality assurance processes, communication both nationally and locally around the progress and outcomes of the audit.
A purpose build IT module for the Scottish Cervical Call Recall system will be in place to manage patient record flow through the review process. Training will be required across the team and wider stakeholder, developed and delivered in partnership with national colleagues.
Regular communication required to liaise with the patients themselves, their GP practices, staff nurses and consultant gynaecology and other consultant in public health staff. There may be instances when the post holder will have direct communication with distressed/anxious/worried patients or relatives.
This post will be part of a newly created multi-disciplinary team leading 1WTE lead nurse specialist, 1.4 WTE specialist nurses and 2WTE members of the admin team. This team will be supported by board coordinator for cervical screening/ consultant in public health and consultant gynaecologists. The post holder will work remotely with regular planned contact time with colleagues both in Kirklands HQ and the three acute sites.
