We are recruiting a Clinical Associate in Applied Psychology (CAAP) required for a permanent post in a tier 3 CAMHS based in the North of Glasgow. This is a well established and committed team working within the new and attractive Woodside Health and Care Service which is close to the city centre. This is a diverse area of the city and working in this location is both enriching and rewarding.
CAMHS is undergoing significant investment to better meet the needs of children and young people with moderate to severe mental health problems. It is an exciting time of innovation and change with lots of opportunities within CAMHS.
We are looking for an enthusiastic CAAP to join with us on this innovative improvement journey.
The post holder:
- will deliver administer assessments and psychological therapies and provide supervision to allow the delivery of low intensity psychological therapies.
- will work within a multi-disciplinary team and alongside a Consultant Clinical Psychologist, team of Clinical Psychologists, Child and Adolescent Therapists and Assistant Psychologists.
- must have an honours degree in psychology (eligible for GBR) and a post-graduate Msc in Applied Psychology (Healthcare) for children and young people.
- will have experience of a range of mental health conditions in children and young people and an ability to understand complex clinical presentations.
- will join a group of 70-80 Psychologists working with children and young people in a variety of settings with good professional support and supervision, plus strong working relationships with other disciplines and agencies.
The service has strong links both with the University of Glasgow Doctorate in Clinical Psychology and the University of Edinburgh MSc Course in Applied Psychology for Children and Adolescents.
