As a Pharmacy Support Worker, you’ll work closely as part of a team who are committed to making a difference. Pharmacy Support Workers are key members of our team and essential to maintain safe and effective delivery of medicines to the site.
We are looking for applicants with a minimum National 4 or above (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics. You will also be supported to complete an SVQ unit while you work as part of your development.
This role offers the opportunity to participate in service development activities, including working in clinical areas to optimise medicines management. Prior experience within pharmacy services or stock management are beneficial but not essential.
You will work in the busy Distribution and Dispensary sections of the Pharmacy Department at the Royal infirmary of Edinburgh. The Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh (RIE) is a large teaching hospital with an established reputation for offering the best practice across a wide variety of specialist services.
The post will involve rotation between departments and may be required to work within the dispensaries of the Princess Alexandra Eye Pavilion, Chalmers, and Lauriston. Duties include medicine receipt and delivery mark-up, stock control, assembly of stock orders for wards/departments, logging in prescriptions, greeting patients at hatch and administration duties.
