Looking for a new challenge? This role in NHS Ayrshire & Arran offers an ambitious and committed Consultant Physician the opportunity to work in an innovative Stroke Service within a University Teaching Hospital, while also contributing to the expanding general medicine service.
This post will see the successful candidate join our existing team to deliver and develop new and innovative approaches in the delivery of in-patient treatment and out-patient care that meet an increasing demand for specialist Stroke services.
The successful candidate will have 3 main components to their job plan, rapid assessment and treatment of Stroke patients, after care in the out-patient setting and the delivery of new and innovative approaches to meet the future needs of the service. Candidates with CCT in general internal medicine will also be expected to contribute to the general medical receiving rota.
Applicants will be registered with the General Medical Council Specialist Register, or be within 6 months of the anticipated award of a certificate of completion of training (CCT), or certificate of eligibility for specialist registration (CESR) at the time of interview. Dual accreditation in GIM and Geriatric Medicine is essential. Applicants are required to have evidence of recent continued academic and professional development. Excellent, communication, listening and organisational skills are essential.
