TRAINEE ADVANCED PAEDIATRIC NURSE PRACTITIONER/ ADVANCED PAEDIATRIC NURSE PRACTITIONER
PAEDIATRIC CRITICAL CARE UNIT, RHCYP
BAND 7 IN TRAINING
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Children’s Services as a Trainee Advanced Paediatric Nurse Practitioner/Advanced Paediatric Nurse Practitioner within the Paediatric Critical Care Unit in Edinburgh.
You will have responsibility for the assessment, examination, management and treatment of critically ill children and young people as part of a robust multidisciplinary team. This will be in partnership with patients and their families. Based on the clinical presentation of patients, you will make complex decisions and deliver advanced care.
The role requires the ability to work as part of the multidisciplinary team to provide excellent service and care to patients. You will have the ability to lead others, think strategically and communicate effectively; you will be able to demonstrate how you will work collaboratively, influencing decisions and outcomes, and be committed to improving care in a complex healthcare organisation.
This is an evolving and dynamic role for which successful candidates will demonstrate advanced skills, knowledge and excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will play an important role in leadership and teaching of nursing, AHP and medical staff, providing clinical support and advice.
You will be responsible for developing the service to improve practice and work collaboratively across healthcare boundaries, implementing and evaluating evidence based standards, guidelines, procedures and policies.
You will identify and implement innovations in clinical practice.
This post requires the post holder to have a PVG Scheme membership/ record. If the post holder is not a current PVG member for the required regulatory group (i.e. child and/or adult) then an application will need to be made to Disclosure Scotland and deemed satisfactory before they can begin in post.
