Responsibility for operational management, operational service delivery, financial compliance and staff governance of a unique regionally managed Healthcare and Forensic Medical Services for People in Police Care and Court Liaison and Diversion Service in Lothian Courts including service planning and performance review reporting. In partnership with and supporting the REAS General Manager and Clinical Director, build and sustain healthcare and forensic medical services fit for the 21st century through service redesign and by promoting safe, effective and person-centred, evidence-based practice.
Provide leadership to promote high professional standards and lead improvement and redesign projects across these services and in partnership with partner Health Boards and other agencies. Ensure that patients’ needs are met and measured by clinical outcomes that offer both professional and care assurance.
Support the development of the nursing and medical workforce including workforce planning, professional development and advancing practice.
Fulfil the role of expert practitioner providing professional police custody healthcare and forensic medical leadership, support and advice to Police Scotland and workforce working throughout the Service and advise and contribute strategically to the National Coordinating Network for Healthcare and Forensic Medical Services for People in Police Care, the Crown Office and the Procurator Fiscal Service and Lothian Courts
This post requires the post holder to have a PVG Scheme membership/ record. If the post holder is not a current PVG member for the required regulatory group (i.e. child and/or adult) then an application will need to be made to Disclosure Scotland and deemed satisfactory before they can begin in post.
