Working as part of the Catering Team, the post holder has a responsibility for the supervision of Production Supervisors, Assistants and Clerical Staff, responsible for ensuring a quality food service is maintained, making sure all services meet health and safety and food hygiene standards. The post holder is required to work as part of a team to deliver a quality service as directed by policies and procedures which are monitored by the Catering Manager. The post holder implements policies and procedures for own and various work areas and other departments. Your duties will include:
- Supervision and direction of supervisors and catering staff, throughout their area of responsibility.
- Allocation of schedules of work, checking work schedules and making temporary adjustments as may be required to meet needs of the service on a daily basis whilst ensuring financial expenditure does not exceed allocated budget.
- Recording of information as assigned by Catering Manager e.g. daily register/checklists, notification of absence details for supervisors and catering assistants.
- Authorisation and recording of annual leave or other leave whilst maintaining service within budget.
- Responsible for recording and calculation of timesheets, overtime payments and signing off for hours worked.
You should have a minimum two years’ experience working as Catering Supervisor, intermediate Food Hygiene Certificate and knowledge of all aspects of Catering Service as in job purpose (Induction Training provided). Training in the use of all machinery used (training provided e.g. Working Safely (IOSHH)
