An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Simulation Technical Assistant to join the Department of Medical Education in NHS Fife.
Are you enthusiastic about using your technical skills to make a difference to patient care and safety? Do you have experience working with simulation manikins, IT equipment and/or medical equipment? Are you competent in the use of Microsoft Office? If so, we would like to hear from you. We deliver expert multidisciplinary healthcare training using a range of simulation-based education methods to give healthcare staff the opportunity to learn, rehearse and perfect patient care and team-working, from the simple to the highly complex. You will be an integral member of the team that is responsible for the technical and administrative service provision which supports simulation-based training activities.
This post will suit individuals who are used to and enjoy working in a busy, client-facing environment and also those who are able to work within a team as well as independently, with a well developed sense of responsibility. Although you will be based mainly at the Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy, it offers the opportunity to work with healthcare professionals, students and other faculty across multiple sites, and you should be able to travel to different sites within NHS Fife if required.
You should have excellent interpersonal and communication skills as well as enjoy problem-solving and troubleshooting technical challenges. You should be educated to Higher level or equivalent, be competent in the use of Microsoft Office and have the ability to manage your own workload with competing demands. Experience with setting up, operating and troubleshooting IT equipment, simulated manikins, AV equipment or other mechanical or electronic devices is desirable for this role, although training will be given to the successful candidate.
