This is an exciting opportunity to join our team of clinicians providing CAMH services to care experienced young people across the North Highland region.

Applicants should be qualified Family & Systemic Psychotherapists, with suitable experience in child and adolescent mental health and extensive experience in working with Children and Young People with mental health problems within a Specialist CAMHS. Experience of working with CEYP will be particularly valuable.

CAMHS in north NHS Highland is a specialist multi-disciplinary team based in Inverness, but providing clinics across a large rural geography.  We also have clinicians based in more remote localities who are supported by the centrally based team.  Primary mental health workers, employed by our partner agency Highland Council, are in place across Highland.

The post holder will be aligned to the Highland Council Arach services, working with Care Experienced Young People. This is a post commissioned by the Highland Council, to promote the psychological wellbeing of young people who are care experienced and to maintain them in placements within the Highland area. The post is varied and includes direct clinical work with children, young people and their carers and also a significant amount of indirect clinical work offering consultation, training and support to residential teams, foster carers and professional networks.

Highland offers many positive lifestyle opportunities, with both the benefits of rural living (including snow sports, hill walking, kayaking and more) and city life in Inverness allowing access to shopping, restaurants and theatre.

A relocation package might be available and can be considered.

Informal enquiries can be directed to Dr Lindsay Chalton, Consultant Clinical Psychologist or Karen Smith, Lead Family & Systemic Psychotherapist on 01463 705597, nhshighland.phoenixcentre@nhs.scot.
