Applications are invited to join our enthusiastic and innovative team within the Theatre and Anaesthetic Team at Stobhill ACH and Glasgow Royal Infirmary. The Theatre Department at Stobhill ACH comprises 6 theatres with 23 theatres at Glasgow Royal Infirmary. The activity within these planned and emergency theatres comprise of patients who require complex surgical interventions and care post operatively. We are inviting experienced untrained nurses (HCSW with acute experience) that possess an aptitude to learn and develop themselves to join the North Theatre department. These posts provide an opportunity for HCSW to further their career. After an internal orientation and learning, you may be invited to then go through an educational pathway with SVQ and clinical supervision that may lead to becoming a scrub assistant (Band 4) or perhaps supported through general training or scrub practitioner training within identified Further Education institutes. You will have the chance to work with this patient group and the opportunity to work alongside and be supported by experienced nurses, clinical nurse specialists and the wider multi-disciplinary team to provide essential training. The working and learning environment is one where you can feel proud to provide a high standard of care to the patients and this role is perfect for a motivated nurse with an interest in Theatre Nursing. The role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to plan and prioritize workload efficiently, the skill to deliver a high standard of quality care and the ability to further your personal development. NHS experience is desirable however if evidence of further development in HCSW field in an acute setting noted in your application you will be considered. The shift pattern is initially day shift – 4 shifts Monday to Friday however an expectancy to be able to bel fully rotational 7 days/nights is essential during orientation and training period. There is also an expectation to rotate within all theatres As a key member in these fast paced areas you will require a “can do” approach
