An opportunity has arisen within NHS Highland Child & Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) based at Raigmore Hospital, Inverness, for a Community Learning Disability Nurse.  We are seeking suitably experienced registered Learning Disability Nurse, who are enthusiastic and motivated, committed to working with young people who may have multiple and complex needs (Learning Disability, Autism, challenging behaviour, social and or Mental Health Problems).  You must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills and be willing to undertake educational and development activities. You will be supported by the CAMHS Lead Nurse through line management and supervision.

You must be able to demonstrate that you can work within a multi-disciplinary team.  You would work in a challenging environment and expected to provide assessment, treatment and clinical intervention to children and young people and their families. The Community Learning Disability Nurse will work closely with Psychologists, Psychiatrists and other nursing colleagues to deliver a specialist, comprehensive and therapeutic service, using their own initiative and acting autonomously when making clinical nursing decisions.

The CAMHS service provides a Highland wide service and covers an extensive geographical area, with a small Inverness base. There is a strong emphasis on providing local community outreach clinics throughout the Highlands.

The post holder must hold a full driving licence and may be expected to use their own car for work purposes. You need the ability to work flexibly which might include working outside normal working hours according to the changing needs of the service.
