We are looking for highly motivated physiotherapist to join our Oncology/haematology physiotherapy team for a period of 6 months.

You will deliver physiotherapy treatments within the Western General Hospital’s oncology and haematology wards which are part of the Edinburgh Cancer Centre.

Candidates must demonstrate clinical experience of assessing and treating patients with neurological, respiratory and general mobility problems. Acute inpatient experience is also required. Previous Band 6 experience and experience of working in oncology/haematology would be desirable.

Ability to prioritise and discharge plan for a wide range of presentations is essential, as is clarity of communication and well-demonstrated organisational skills. Experience of supervision and teaching to students and support staff is essential and experience of supervision and teaching Band 5 staff is desirable.

Therapy Services support staff development through appraisal process, supervision and CPD opportunities.

There is a regular weekend and overnight on-call commitment.

This post requires the post holder to have a PVG Scheme membership/ record. If the post holder is not a current PVG member for the required regulatory group (i.e. child and/or adult) then an application will need to be made to Disclosure Scotland and deemed satisfactory before they can begin in post.  ​​​​​​​
