Applications are invited from suitably qualified, Health and Care Professions Council registered Healthcare Scientists with experience working at team leader (BMS 2) level or above in a Haematology hospital laboratory to join the Haematology/Blood Transfusion department based in the new Forth Valley Royal Hospital in Larbert. The hospital is in a beautiful part of Central Scotland which has excellent transport links.
The Laboratory provides Haematology and Blood Transfusion support to the acute hospital, community hospitals and to general practice. A direct ordering system is in place for primary and secondary care and the department has recently implemented new laboratory equipment which has provided end to end automation within the Blood Sciences Department.
You will be responsible for day to day management of the Haematology Laboratory Service including responsibilities for quality standards and providing specialist advice to service users and colleagues. You will also be responsible for line management, service development, quality and training and you will deputise for the Department Manager or Deputy Manager in Blood Transfusion as required. You will be qualified to MSc level or equivalent in Biomedical Science and have extensive knowledge and experience in Haematology.
